What is
this site? A book and an experiment. jsGuru.com is a book about javaScript as a programming language, not just some toy for use with internet browsers. The site is also an experiment in that I, along with my partner Nancy, will write the book here at this site. I am really not so certain how this will work, or even if it will work, but if you're interested we can give it a try. If nothing else, we will all learn a little together, and who knows...? The purpose of writing the book online is to obtain your feedback as we progress. To obtain that, we need a way to communicate, right? At the bottom of the menu, you will find a "Comments" item. When you click it, a form will appear in another window, ready and waiting for your comments and suggestions. Please don't forget to include your e-mail address so I can reply. If you are new to this site, and who isn't just now, please begin at the beginning, Chapter One, "Introduction". Here you will learn a little about this book and about me, my perspectives on programming and computers and some other odds and ends. So, now on to the first chapter... Bob Lathe May 1999 |
